Parag Desai, a businessman and powerful executive at Wagh Bakri Tea Group, passed away on Sunday. This unfortunate event occurred a few days after he was attacked by stray dogs outside his home. He was forty-nine.
According to Ahmedabad Mirror, Desai was badly hurt while trying to defend himself against street dogs that attacked him on October 15.
The security guard at his home told his family about what happened. Then, he was quickly taken to Shelby Hospital.
Desai was moved to Zydus Hospital from Shelby Hospital for a surgery after a day of observation.
Unfortunately, he passed away on Sunday due to a brain hemorrhage while receiving treatment.
Shaktisinh Gohil, the Gujarat Congress chief and Rajya Sabha member, expressed his condolences for Desai’s passing in a post on social media.
“Very sad news coming in. Parag Desai, Director and owner Wagh Bakri Tea passed away. He had a brain haemorrhage following a fall. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the entire Wagh Bakri family across India,” he wrote.
Desai was the son of Rasesh Desai, who was the Managing Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group. His wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha are still alive.
According to Exchange4Media, Desai has over 30 years of entrepreneurship experience. He led the Group’s International Business, Sales, and Marketing efforts. He was actively involved in leading industry platforms such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and was highly respected within the industry.
